Seventy Years of Industrial Development in the People’s Republic of China: A Study Based on Industrial Policy
This research focuses on China’s industrialization process under Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, specifically examining the impact of the Soviet-assisted "156 Projects" from 1950 to 1957 on China’s industrial development. Using a novel micro-level perspective and empirical research methods, the study explores the influence of the "156 Projects" on regional enterprise entry and the development of related industries from 1950 to 1978. Additionally, the research analyzes the impact of these projects on industrial chain expansion and the spatial agglomeration in the regions where they were implemented. The findings aim to demonstrate how government and market forces can collaborate to promote the cluster development of high-tech industries.
