Brief Course Description
This course offers a brief introduction to scientific work in organization and management. It focuses on a few key issues in the philosophy and the conduct of science. These issues help us gain clarity on the role of scientific research in advancing the practice of management and progress of human society. The role of the scientist as public servant of knowledge and the meaning of a career in science will be explored.
Session: Careers in Science
There are great variations in the nature of scientific careers and contributions. This session will explore the different ways to have a meaningful career in science and in life, and as a professor of research and teaching in business schools. A panel of faculty colleagues at different career stages from different universities will share their experiences, how they overcome challenges and their approaches to living a meaningful and rewarding career and life in science.
