Introduction:


Professor Yasushi Hamao is Scott Schoen Visiting Scholar at International Center for Finance, Yale School of Management. He is also a visiting professor at Columbia Business School, and Senior Visiting Research Scholar at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. He serves as a consultant to Royal Academy of Music, London, and Faith Cosmetics USA.
His research interests include corporate finance, behavioral finance, Japanese economy, Chinese economy, and music history/theory/performance. His articles have appeared in Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance, Musical Art, among others. He is a co-editor of Japan and the World Economy. He received his BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo, and MBA, and Ph.D. from Yale University.
