在成人直播-成人直播室 2022年毕业典礼上，“未来领导者”国际本科毕业生代表Niklas Muennighoff（中文名：孟念）分享了自己的成人直播岁月以及对未来的期待，以下为发言全文。

尊敬的各位老师，亲爱的同学们：

大家好！我是Niklas Muennighoff孟念，来自“未来领导者”国际本科项目。今天，能够代表“未来领导者”第一届的毕业生在毕业典礼上发言，我感到非常荣幸。

每个同学都有自己和北大的故事。我的北大梦始于十六岁。那时候我常想，如果未来我想对人类社会产生积极的影响，我最好是去哪里？从经济发展的角度看，我认为美国和中国是最好的选择。因此，那年夏天我一半时间在美国参加哈佛大学的暑期班，一半时间在中国的一家金融公司实习。那段经历中，为了技术合作，我经常跟随团队去深圳。深圳的快速发展让我耳目一新。于是当时我就决定将来要更深入地关注中国的发展和未来。而当成人直播-成人直播室 “未来领导者”国际本科项目的机会出现时，我知道这是我最好的选择。不仅因为北京大学代表着中国最高学府，更因为在成人直播，我可以加入这个来自世界各地优秀学生的群体。

在北大学习的两年里，对我来说，以下两点让我印象深刻：

第一，成人直播的课程以最新的研究为基础，而这些研究往往是教授们自己完成的。比如在刚过去的这个学期，我上的最后一门课《投资中国》（Investing in China），教授在课前就对我们的需求做了调研，在设计课程时结合了理论研究和大量的数据，还有教授和同事们的第一手最新实地调研帮助我们了解中国的投资环境和主要行业的发展。这是其他地方难以获得的宝贵知识。感谢老师们关注线上的我们，你们为线上线下一起教学付出了额外的努力！学校的行政老师们也处处为我们着想，竭尽全力地保障我们的学习体验，我非常感激所有北大的老师们的努力和付出！。

第二，我的同学们都有着独特而丰富多彩的经历，从马拉松的参赛选手到柬埔寨的志愿者。我们在课堂上的讨论也很热烈，大家会贡献不同的想法。在Capstone Project 课程中，我们有机会参与到一个咨询项目中，解决企业的实际问题。因为我的同学们来自不同的国家，有多元的国际经历，我们可以从不同角度帮助公司分析如何进行海外市场的拓展。我在北大遇到的人都非常友好、善良、勤奋。感谢你们，是你们的优秀激励着我更加努力。

非常荣幸我能成为“未来领导者”项目的第一届毕业生。感谢所有的老师和同学们，一起让学院、让这个新的项目如此精彩。未来领导者的同学们，让我们继续努力，实现承诺，成长为对人类社会产生积极影响的未来领导者！

Ladies and gentlemen, honoured guests, staff and students：

Good morning to you all.

I am Niklas Muennighoff from the “Future Leaders” Undergraduate Program. I am very grateful to be able to represent the first cohort of our program at today’s graduation ceremony.

My journey to Peking University started when I was 16. I was searching for the best environment to have positive impact on humanity’s economic and technological development in my future life. Based on economic standing, I thought the US and China would be most interesting. Thus, I decided to spend half of my summer that year in the US to take summer classes at Harvard and half in China for an internship in Finance. I worked close to Shenzhen, and I remember my team regularly going to Shenzhen for technology partnerships. I was amazed by how fast Shenzhen had developed and continued to grow. I wanted to learn more about the development of China and its prospects, which led me to enroll in the “Future Leaders” program several years later. Compared to other programs, this program was the best choice for me to learn about China’s economy for two reasons. I would benefit from the academic excellence of PKU, and I would join a cohort of outstanding students from all around the world.

These two aspects really became clear to me while at PKU.

The professors base their classes on the latest research, which they have often done themselves. For example, in the last classes I took, Investing in China, our professor presented a field study, he had done with his colleagues to help us understand company’s ESG practices in China. This was unique insight hard to get elsewhere. The entire staff at PKU works very hard to make PKU as great as it is. I want to thank you all for your devotion.

My classmates have unique backgrounds from running marathons to volunteering in Cambodia. When working on our Capstone project, where we consulted a Chinese company, my team was able to provide an analysis on how it could expand to new markets abroad thanks to my classmates’ international experiences. The people I have met at PKU are extremely hard-working and well-intended. Thank you all for being an inspiration to me to work harder.

I am very grateful for the chance to be part of this program as it’s pioneer cohort. Thanks to all the teachers, staff and students for making this school and the “Future Leaders” program as excellent as it is. Let’s strive to fulfill the program’s promise and become leaders with a positive impact on humanity’s future.
